School Lunches

Hello from Star of Hope!

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Tony and Myrta, the dedicated individuals managing our Haiti branch. Despite the ongoing challenges, including risks associated with travel to Haiti, we continue to operate seven schools and support seven churches in the country. Tony and Myrta are doing an incredible job, navigating through obstacles like gang violence, fuel shortages, and soaring food prices, all while prioritizing the safety of our team.

Currently, three of our schools are situated in particularly dangerous areas due to violence, putting our staff and students at daily risk. However, Tony has established a network to keep everyone informed, and we are doing our best to maintain operations. Due to these difficulties, we have had to scale back our “lunch buddy program” to just four lunches a week.

In light of these challenges, we are seeking assistance, not only with food but also with essential resources such as new textbooks, replacement solar batteries, internet access in certain areas, teacher training, computer facilities for students, and laptops for teachers. It’s a significant undertaking, but we are committed to making a positive impact.

Despite the adversities, we persist in educating children and spreading the message of Christ, thanks to generous supporters like you. Any assistance you can provide, especially for school lunches this month, would be greatly appreciated. The children are receiving education, sustenance, and love because of your kindness. We are doing everything in our power to make a difference and would be grateful for any additional support you can offer.
